Now that we have setup MDT, the next step is to start importing operating systems so that we can begin making images. In this example I will be using Windows 10 Enterprise 1803.

1) Go to the top of the VM session and go into File

- Choose settings from the drop down menu

- Go into SCSI Controller and highlight DVD

- Click Add

- Choose image file and then navigate to the path where you saved the ISO image

- Click apply then OK

- Go into the deployment workbench and expand the deployment shares

- Expand MDT Build Lab

- Expand Operating systems

- Right click operating systems and choose Import Operating System

- Choose full set of source files for the OS and click next

- Find the ISO image.

- It is under this pc and it should be called DVD Drive E

- Click next

- Name it W10X64v1803

- Click next and then finish

- Go into Operating systems in the workbench and go into the Windows 10 Folder

- Delete everything except the Windows 10 Pro + Enterprise x64 images.

2. Now we need to get the updates for the Windows 10 image

- Go to https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/home.aspx and search for the latest Cumulative Update for the version you are working with

- Download them to your desktop

- Copy them across to the MDT server

- In the D drive create a new folder in the setup folder called Windows 10 Updates

- Put the updates in this folder

- Open the deployment workbench and expand the Deployment shares

- Expand MDT Build Lab

- Expand Packages

- Create a folder here called Windows 10 x64 1803

- In this folder, right click and select Import OS Packages

- Select the Windows 10 Updates folder you made in D:\Setup

- Expand the Advanced configuration folder in workbench which is under task sequences and create a new selection profile called Windows 10 x64 v1803

- When creating this profile, select Packages

- Then select the Windows 10 x64 v1803 folder
